Symposium on Curriculum Reform Towards the 21st Century The 21st Century is drawing near. In the world-wide efforts in education for all, the research and exploration of curricular and teaching materials of basic education have been strengthened in order to meet the needs of the new century. With approval of the Ministry of Education, China National Institute of Educational Research together with Northeast Normal University, Faculty of Education of the Chinese University of Hong Kong will hold an International Symposium on Reforming Curricular and Teaching Materials of Basic Education towards the 21st Century from 29 November to 3 December 1998 in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China. The purpose of the Symposium is to mutually imbibe and absorb the latest research achievements and experience of innovation in this field. Subject of the Symposium Main topics of the Symposium:
About 60 participants will be invited to attend the symposium. They are experts, scholars, teachers and educational administrators who engage in studying and drawing up curricular and teaching materials. We take great pleasure in inviting you to attend the Symposium. In order to arrange lectures, divide groups and translate the thesis, please mail your paper to the Secretariat, Organizing Committee of the Symposium. Besides paper presentations, group discussions and field-visit-studies will be arranged during the Symposium. Both English and Chinese are available in the symposium.
