Natural
and Human Sciences
UNESCO holds that the scientific community shares
a long-standing tradition that transcends nations, religions and ethnicity. Hence
the Organization will promote "intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind"
which is the basis of a culture of peace and must bear in mind the interface between
modern science and traditional knowledge systems. The World Conference on Science
(Budapest 1999) has highlighted this aspect.
