OREALC/UNESCO publishes Bibliograpy on Gender, December 2006

The Information and Documentation Centre of OREALC/UNESCO Santiago in Chile has published a Spanish Bibliography on Gender, compiled for ALADIN under the supervision of Gloria Alberti by Vanessa Gutiérrez Fernandez. The 102 pages of the Bibliography are divided into 15 topics, listing all material available in the Information and Documentation Centre of OREALC/UNESCO and giving access to relevant online material.

Litcam, Google and UIL launch "The Literacy Project", October 2006

Litcam (an initiative of the Frankfurt Book Fair), Google and the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning have launched "The Literacy Project", a resource for teachers, literacy organizations and anyone interested in the promotion of reading and education. The web-based project enables users to access and share literacy resources from around the world - from e-learning videos and books about literacy, to scholarly articles, reading groups, and literacy-related blogs. Visitors can also use the Google Maps function to search for literacy organizations, including many ALADIN members, around the globe.

Workshop on PALDIN e-Learning course in India, March 2006

An international workshop on "Developing a Framework of a Curriculum for an E-learning course on Participatory Adult Learning, Documentation and Information Networking (PALDIN)" took place at the India International Centre in New Delhi between March 29th and 30th, 2006. It was organized by Indian ALADIN member Dr. Shah. ALADIN members William Evans (Norway) and Sue Adams (Canada) gave key presentations.

ALADIN ICT & Standardisation Group met in Brussels, February 2006

ALADIN members William Evans (Norway), Sietze Hofstra (Holland) and Victoria Latapí (Mexico) met between February 3rd and 5th, 2006 in Brussels, Belgium. They have discussed various ICT and standardisation issues concerning ALADIN.
