What is the Peace Package?

This Peace Package is designed for you, the elementary school teacher to promote education for a culture of peace. It can easily be adapted to classroom teaching and to the age of your pupils. The package includes the following educational resource material:  

The teacher's handbook explains and describes the various materials in the package. It serves as a basic guide for the teacher, suggesting classroom activities, ideas on how to use each item in the PEACE PACKAGE. Peace can be discussed and expressed in many different subjects, in the playground, in extra-curricular activities and in the family.		The Peace Poster features a series of topics of concern to children with corresponding questions for discussions: - Save the environment - No to violence! - Stop smoking, drugs and alcohol - Discourage war toys! - Build schools and NOT weapons! - Dare to share! - Stop wars and ensure peace!
There are seven activity cards which deal with the following topics: - What is peace? - Tolerance and respect - Conflict the wrong way - What are my rights? - It's our world - Getting to know you - intercultural learning - Learning together		These Appeals were written by the children at the seven regional UNESCO Peace Festivals: - African Festival - Arab States Festival - Asian Festival - Caribbean Festival - European Festival - Latin American Festival - Pacific Festival
