Breaking the Silence go to home page
The Transatlantic Slave Trade is one of the most tragic chapters in history. For four centuries, millions of African men, women and children were captured, shipped across the Atlantic Ocean and sold into slavery. This forced transfer of people has had enormous consequences on the course of history, the interactions of civilizations and development at all levels. Yet it is a story which remains largely untold.

The ASPnet Transatlantic Slave Trade Project aims to break the silence surrounding the Transatlantic Slave Trade. By learning about the past, young people can fully understand the present and prepare a better future together in a world free of all types of enslavement, injustice, discrimination and prejudice.
