ICCB: International Catholic Child Bureau

ICCB is an institution, which provides a platform for discussion and which works towards helping all children. ICCB develops and supports programmes in favour of street children in Africa, in Latin America and in Asia. It carries out its activities in conjunction with shelters and therapeutic communities, which are linked to families and local communities. Street working children and drug-addict teenagers may have some who listens to them, may receive spiritual and psychological help, and have access to basic literacy and to vocational training, which allow their reinsertion into society.

ILO/IPEC: International Labour Office /

The ILO international programme for the elimination of child labour (IPEC) is the leading programme for technical co-operation on this matter in the world. The aim of this programme is to contribute to the progressive elimination of child labour by reinforcing the capacity of countries to tackle the problem and by setting up a world-wide movement to combat it.

WHO: World Health Organisation

The main mission of the WHO is the promotion of health for all. In 1992, the WHO Programme on Substance Abuse (PSA) initiated a special project "Street Children and Substance Abuse". The project has been aimed at developing a framework within which specific organisations could assess the nature and extent of the problem of street children and substance abuse in individual communities in order to develop and implement appropriate responses. The initial funding for the project came from the United Nation Drugs Control Programme (UNDCP).

The Council of Europe

The Council of Europe is an international organisation based in the French City of Strasbourg. Its main role is to strengthen democracy, human rights and the rule of law throughout its member states. European Network on Street Children Worldwide (ENSCW) 

This Network has about 600 members all over the world coming from Non-Governmental Organisations and Governmental Organisations, multilateral and international agencies, cities and universities and aims at responding to the needs of street children and promoting their rights. It also facilitates information-sharing, promotes activities launched in the field on behalf of street children and sensitises political decisions-makers to the rights and needs of street children.

MARJUVIA: Marginalisation des jeunes dans les villes africaines
(Marginalisation of the Youth in African Cities)

MARJUVIA is a research group attached to the "Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales" in Paris. It specialises in the study of the phenomenon of the marginalisation of the youth in Africa. It publishes a half-yearly review on different research issues concerning marginalised youth as well as case studies.
