World List of Universities and other Institutions of Higher Education

The World List of Universities and Other Institutions of Higher Education is long established as an invaluable information tool for all those concerned with higher education in its international context. It is one of the standard reference works produced, together with the International Handbook of Universities and the World Academic Database CD.-ROM, by the International Association of Universities. Whereas the Handbook contains comprehensive information on nearly 6,000 university level institutions, the World List is a concise directory including, in addition to universities, other institutions offering terminal degrees after three to four years of higher education.

The twenty-first edition of the World List includes some 12,000 entries, covering 179 countries. In addition, information is given on major national academic bodies directly concerned with higher education. The presentation of the new edition of the World List has been modified and enhanced to facilitate reference.
