    Other information
An Education Sector Study has been completed with UNDP and UNESCO (1990-1993) and an EFA Committees were established in 1996.

The committees are: Central EFA co-ordinating committee, EFA Executive Committee, five national level Thematic Committees on EFA and sub-national level implementation committees. These committees would include civil society actors such as NGOs (“Light of Education”), the Maternal Child Welfare Association and the Women Entrepreneurs Association.

A special four year plan (2000-2003) and long term plan (30 years) will include EFA related goals but if necessary Myanmar will formulate a separate EFA National Plan of Action. What remains to be done is to review and revise the existing planning guidelines to achieve the Dakar Framework goals, set a time-frame for the EFA National Action Plan, and prepare the budget. Inter-sectoral consultation is done in the framework of the Inter-sectoral Myanmar Education Committee and in quarterly review meetings of State Division/Township education officers.
