    Description of National EFA Plan/strategy
    There are three goals:

    1.) Expanding and improving comprehensive early childhood care and education including repairing 10% of kindergartens by 2002 and 20% by 2004. Achieving 8.4% improvement in enrolment of pre-school education by 2002 and 21.9% by 2005.

    2.) Ensuring that all children have access to compulsory basic education of good quality, including reaching gross enrollment ratio in basic education to 90% and having school dormitory for each sum, increasing number of computers in secondary school by 42.3%.

    3.) Ensuring than the learning needs of all young people and adults are met, including non-formal distance education by 2003.

    Other information
    In Mongolia senior education officials and other education stakeholders have expressed their commitment for EFA in Collective Commitment Meeting. A draft Mid-Term Plan of Action has been prepared and the EFA National Strategy has been defined including three objectives: Timeframe, budget required and evaluation of indicators.

    Additionally, the structure, duties and responsibilities and representatives of the National EFA Forum have been identified and an EFA National Working Group has been set up. However, the actual EFA National Forum has to be set up and appoint the EFA coordinator. Inter-sectoral consultations include data collection, sharing of documents, roundtables, workshops etc.
