Session of the Intergovernemental Committee for the application
of the Mediterranean Convention - The creation
of an information network for national academic recognition
bodies in the Mediterranean Region was recommended by Member
States at the 6th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee
for the application of the International Convention on the
Recognition of Studies, Diplomas and Degrees in Higher Education
in the Arab and European States bordering on the Mediterranean
(February 2002).
Brain
Drain to Brain Gain - Two UNESCO projects - in Mali and
Yugoslavia - provide innovative approaches to the phenomenon
of Brain Drain, the extensive emigration of skilled professionals.
Both projects capitalise on the skills of nationals living
abroad to promote international intellectual co-operation
(January 2002).

Education Open and Distance Learning Knowledge Base Project
- overview of this interdiscplinary project to support decision-makers
in developing countries and countries in transition on policy
issues relating to implications of open and distance learning
including transnational education and e-learning provisions,
such as virtual universities (December 2001).
