UPTER

UPTER (Università Popolare di Roma) is a non-profit cultural association active in the field of adult education. Established in Rome in 1987, UPTER activities include courses, guided tours of a historical, artistic, archaeological nature, conferences and seminars, research in the field, trips and cultural exchanges.

In 2004 UPTER organized the first Festival of Adult Education of this type in Italy. Festival initiatives attracted people of all ages offering a rich selection of events, organized into a series of different themes which were at the same time linked to the main theme of lifelong learning.
During the festival, teachers and students participated in theatre, mime, music and diction workshops offering concerts and lessons. Events included round tables, conferences, language skills testing and guided visits.
