International Adult Learners Week
in Europe

Network of Learning festivals

Working Scheme

Working meetings, study visits, communication by email and three “working groups” formed the body of the activities of IntALWinE. The three working groups provided a separate forum for reflection and discussion among the partners and coordinated concrete activities and outputs of the network.

Working Group 1
focused on the voices of learners and tried to extract their experiences and aspirations. WG1 coordinated the collection of voices of learners in the partner countries for the publication on the “I did it my way. Learning Journeys in Europe.” It also prepared the International Learners Forum and the International Study Tour.

Working Group 2
addressed the operational improvement of learning festivals. It identified best practice, developed methods for data collection and suggested models for cooperation with partner agencies and the media.

Working Group 3
Finally employed a strategic perspective. The results of WG2 drew on the overall results of the network activities and the experiences of the partners in their respective countries, and prepared the final publication to demonstrate the mobilization and advocacy potential of learning festivals for learning and democracy building.
