Background...
Sweden is one of the countries which has opted for a different rhythm to organize their adult learners' week, which is the month of March. The reason for this choice is a very pragmatic one: as adult learning activities are very  common but also very organized, most students need to decide by May what course they would  like to join in August. Thus, the festival is largely meant to be a promotional campaign: to raise awareness of different and interesting new learning opportunities for experienced learners, but also to reach new groups of learners, and to inform decision-takers on activities.

Following their first adult learners' week in March 2000, the second week was organized in 2001 on 19 - 25 March, and the third one on 7 -13 April in 2002. The adult learners´ week of this year started on the 30th of March and ended on the 4th of April and is now under evaluation.
