We
learned with deep sadness that Mahindra Ranaweera, senior programme
specialist
(from 1983 to 1992) and former Deputy Director of UIE passed away
on December 11, 2002 in his home country Sri Lanka.
UIE's work
in curriculum development and non-formal education were heavily
influenced
by Ranaweera. His competence and experience were unanimously recognized
and his modest sense of humour was admired.
UIE and
its partners remember him as a wise, gentle, cordial and efficient
colleague
who always was ready to offer advice and helping shoulders. |
