Publications UIE publishes a range of books and reports based on its research projects, either using its own printing facilities or working with outside printers and publishers. In addition it has edited, since 1955, the International Review of Education (IRE), the longest-running international journal on the comparative theory and practice of formal and non-formal education. The material published in the journal is in three languages, English, French and German. The IRE is edited with the advice of an international Editorial Board, which meets annually, and with the assistance of additional consulting editors. Its purpose is to provide educational institutions, researchers, social groups involved in education, and practitioners all over the world with critical analyses and scholarly information on major educational innovations, research projects and trends. The Institute’s International Award for Literacy Research, financed by the Governments of Canada and France, is given every two years. It carries a prize of US$ 10,000, and the winning entry is published in three languages, English, French and Spanish. |
