INDICATOR 11 – Pupil-teacher ratios in primary education.

Existing official reference books contain integrated data on the numbers of teachers in secondary schools (1-11 Grades) and in elementary schools (1-4 Grades). Because of necessity to display teachers’ gender content it was possible to use the figures only for all kinds of school pedagogical staff including managers and social workers. The result is also limited by day-time conventional schools and it value is a bit less than real due to the higher ratio in special schools.

By 'Private' is meant here all educational institutions not operated by a public authority, whether or not it receives financial support from such authorities.

An important result was obtained through data analyses of Table 7-1 and 7-2. The ratio teachers/pupils was found to be almost three times more for elementary education. The values were very close for urban and rural sides. Probably, these phenomena are due to existing regulation in the pedagogical universities and vocational establishments as well as by good practice in the local governing in the field of education bodies. Renewal of the obligatory allocation of the graduating from pedagogical establishments students also contributes in these figures high level.
