Table 11 provides enrolment figures to primary school (nationally) by gender from 1992-1996. The total primary school enrolment in Nigeria rose from 13.6 million in 1990 to 16.2 million in 1994 and declined to 14.1 million in 1996. These corresponds to 56.8% males and 43.2% female in 1990, 55.9% male and 44.1% female in 1994 and 54.7 % male and 45.6 % female in 1996.
