Celebrating the first anniversary of the World Education Forum

One year ago the international community pledged to provide quality education for all by 2015 at the World Education Forum in Dakar, Senegal. Yesterday UNESCO Director-General Koïchiro Matsuura marked the first anniversary by issuing a joint statement signed by the Forum's convenors (UNDP, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNICEF and the World Bank). Mr Matsuura also addressed the Permanent Delegations to UNESCO at a meeting in Paris.

Please find attached to this special edition the joint statement (engDakar+1statement.rtf), Mr Matsuura's address (DGaddress.rtf) and a UNESCO press release (engpressDakar+1.rtf). The Dakar anniversary was also celebrated around the world. Read more in the next issue of the Bulletin Board.
