|
| Sir/Madam, |
| |
|
|
On
behalf of the Director-General, I have the honour to invite
you to participate in an information meeting on "Follow-up
to Dakar" which will be held on Wednesday, 20 September
2000, in Room XII (Fontenoy), from 11.30 a.m. to 12.45 p.m.
|
|
| |
|
The
main focus of the meeting, which will be chaired by Mr Jacques
Hallak, Assistant Director-General for Education a.i., will
be the preparation of "National EFA Plans of Action" for which
the enclosed guidelines
have been prepared by the Education Sector in cooperation
with relevant EFA partners. The aim of the guidelines is to
stimulate follow-up actions at the country level, particularly
through the setting-up or revival of national EFA forums whose
task will be to coordinate and mobilize EFA-related actions
at the country level. The guidelines are being issued in Arabic,
English, French and Spanish, and will be distributed to all
Member States by the end of September 2000.
|
| |
| |
| The briefing
will also provide an opportunity to outline other follow-up
actions that already have taken place or will be undertaken
in the period ahead; please see the
attached summary. |
| |
|
| Simultaneous
translation will be provided in English and French. Relevant
documents will be available in the meeting room. |
|
| |
|
| Please
accept, Sir/Madam, the assurances of my highest consideration. |
|
