Calling all Jordanian Designers: UNESCO Amman launches design contest for handmade objects


 

 

Amman, 12 December 2011 - The UNESCO Office in Amman is today launching a Design for Handmade Objects Contest, open to all Jordanian designers. The aim of the contest is to encourage Jordanian designers and craftsperson to keep up traditional crafts while adapting them to a changing environment and market.

The designs should be inspired by Jordan’s diverse popular culture and living heritage, and be based mostly on locally available, natural and/or recycled materials.  A jury of artists,...
