In the field of integrated watershed and aquifer dynamics UNESCO Amman Office endeavors to foster research and focuses on building capacities in the field of integrated watershed and aquifer dynamics. In particular, support is given to research in the following fields:
- Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing drought management in the Amman Zarqa Basin:
- Hydrological modeling using GIS and Hydrological modeling system (HEC-HMS).
- GIS applications for the groundwater vulnerability assessment, vulnerability mapping, groundwater hazard forecasting, prevention and risk assessment
