Mid-April update: Registrations received for CONFINTEA VI

As of 15 April, 123 of 193 UNESCO Member States have confirmed that they will be taking part in CONFINTEA VI in Belém this May. A fair proportion of the delegations from Member States will be headed by their respective Ministers or Vice-Ministers of Education, 75 of whom have confirmed their attendance to date.

With a response rate of 82% and 34 Ministers in attendance, the Member States in the Africa region currently lead the field in terms of the number of confirmations received. An increase in the number of registrations worldwide, including representatives from UN agencies and NGOs, is predicted for the second half of April.

The organizers would like to take this opportunity to remind all participants – including those who have already contacted the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) or the UNESCO Office in Brasilia (UBO) to confirm their participation – that they are required to register online. Delegates must register individually using the registration link. The information that you provide on the registration form will enable us to prepare conference badges, draw up lists of participants and make arrangements for airport transfer.

Should you have any questions regarding the registration process, do not hesitate to contact UBO at: confinteabrazil(at)unesco.org.br.

NB: Please bear in mind that you may need a visa a) for Brazil and b) for any countries through which you transit on your way to Brazil. We recommend that you check the visa requirements online.

Should you require a visa, please contact UBO to request a personal letter of invitation, making sure that you provide your full name and address: confinteabrazil(at)unesco.org.br. The name you provide should be identical to the one in the passport on which you will be travelling.
