UNESCO Doha, in close cooperation with the World Heritage Centre are organizing the first sub-regional Workshop for member states of the GCC, as well as Yemen, Sudan and Egypt.
Following a recent meeting for periodic reporting in the Arab region in Manama, Bahrain, UNESCO Doha, in close cooperation with the World Heritage Centre are organizing the first sub-regional Workshop for member states of the GCC, as well as Yemen, Sudan and Egypt.
Topics to be covered include issues in relation to the Outstanding Universal Value Statement and the Questionnaire for Reporting and Monitoring about inscribed properties in the above mentioned member states.
The office is also organizing a theoretical and practical training in April 2009, focusing on the management of heritage sites for properties inscribed on the World Heritage List for the staff of the directorate of Antiquities and Museums of Oman.
UNESCO in cooperation with relevant Omani authorities is selecting the appropriate international experts and developing the programme of the training.
