Africa Week at UNESCO

The cultural diversity of Africa will be celebrated by a range of activities during Africa Week at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France (25-28 May).

The Karamojong or Karimojong, an ethnic group of agro-pastoral herders living mainly in the north-east of Uganda. The blackboards the students use are common property and will be collected after each lesson.

Organized jointly by the African ambassadors to UNESCO to promote regional integration and international cooperation, Africa Day is celebrated on 25 May - the date of the founding of the Organization of African Unity (today’s African Union) in 1963.
