Launch of ESD portal in French
On the occasion of the launch of the new website www.education-developpement-durable.fr/ from Terra Project, a press conference will be organized at UNESCO Headquarters (Fontenoy) on Monday, May 17, from 9:00 to 11:00, in Room IX.
Terra Project is a multi-media and publishing agency that specializes in the production of films, videos games and other websites raising the awareness of the general public and educational institutions on issues related to sustainable development.
Terra Project’s approach is in line with the objectives of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, through its focus on public awareness, its conception of sustainable development, its commitment to train people to adopt sustainable production and consumption patterns, and also in its use of new communication and information technologies to assist in the dissemination and understanding of issues related to sustainable development.
The website is geared for teachers and students from universities and secondary schools and offers thousands of free multimedia educational resources in education for sustainable development. Beyond the wealth of its content, the site offers teachers a real working tool that enables them to prepare fully customized learning sequences for the benefit of their lectures and their students.
As an interdisciplinary approach designed by teachers, this website and its 102 case studies have been developed with the support of the Ministry of National Education and a partnership between ADEME and the IRD (Research Institute for Development). It also enjoys the sponsorship of UNESCO.
For more information on the press conference, press services are invited to contact Ms. Fabienne Torres Baranes from the Agency Notoriété Publique. For more information on Terra Project, please contact Ms. Anne Marleix or visit the website
