Individuals, communities and governments are at different stages in their understanding of the benefits of a sustainability approach and the role of education in it. Significant efforts have therefore been made to enhance the availability of teaching, training, learning and resource materials on ESD issues.

Media as partners in education for sustainable development         This kit, produced by UNESCO with the Thomson Foundation, seeks to assits media professionals in their efforts to report on sustainable development issues, help provide relevant information resources and establish a model for media training on this important topic. This Education for Sustainable Development media training and resource kit addrresses the issues that are being discussed on the social, economic and environmantal fronts. It does not pretent to know all the answers , but draws on existing experience and recommends resources for further inquiry and research.
