Mariela Buonomo

Research officer

Economist, with a PhD in public policy from The George Washington University and Masters in public policy and economics from Georgetown University. Her research focuses on child labour, household economics, and the evaluation of policies aimed at increasing school access and attainments. Previously, she worked with the government of Uruguay supporting the planning and monitoring of the country’s educational reforms, as well as the monitoring of women’s economic conditions. Dr. Buonomo has also worked as a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank, the Andean Development Corporation and The World Bank, supporting the design of early childhood and basic education programs, as well as youth training programs.
