Julia Heiss

Team manager

Julia Heiss, an anthropologist and education specialist, joined the GMR team in May 2008. She has worked as a Programme Specialist in the Education Sector of UNESCO, where she coordinated a programme to promote science and technology education for all. She has expertise in conceptualizing, planning and implementing education programmes internationally for sustainable development and consumption, science and technology education, marginalized groups such as woman and refugees as well as coordination of research in these areas. Ms. Heiss worked for three years with UNESCO in Kenya and since 1999 in Paris. She holds a MA in Social Anthropology (University of Vienna) as well as a MA in Education (UK Open University)
