The Conference aims to enhance the role of TVET to meet educational, economic and social needs of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Member States. It will be attended by Ministers of Education from the CIS and several European countries.

Participation in the Conference of the Ministers of Education will encourage the adoption of important policy recommendations on further activities to develop TVET in the CIS and strengthen cooperation in this field of particular relevance in the current economic crisis.

Based on the Conference outcomes a comprehensive study of the development of TVET in the CIS will be conducted with the aim to harmonize statistical reporting and national qualifications standards in the sphere of TVET in the CIS countries.
