Develop and review comprehensive national TVET policies

  • Building national capacities to undertake subsector diagnosis and policy analysis, and to preparing comprehensive national TVET plans aligned with the national education system.
  • Assistance in the development of standards for various types and levels of training, certification and quality assurance based on systematic monitoring and assessment.
  • Providing UNESCO’s policy review and advice on TVET to 15-20 countries in order to accelerate progress toward the EFA goals. 

Establish coherent and cooperative multilateral approaches

  • Promoting a holistic approach to TVET in order to overcome the fragmentation of many national TVET strategies by harmonizing interventions with key partners on the country level.
  • Assistance to Member States to coordinate all in-country partners, including civil society, the private sector, unions and teacher and trainer organizations.
  • Facilitating regional cooperation through the use of existing UNESCO regional networks and the UNEVOC global networks.
