Cape Town - Regional Meeting on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage successfully completed

From 20 to 21 April a regional meeting on the 2001 Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage and the situation in the southern African Member States took place in Cape Town, South Africa.

National, regional and international experts gathered, to discuss among others recent important finds of underwater cultural heritage in Namibia and the other participating States. They also discussed the preparation of a ratification of the 2001 Convention and capacity building. Finally an action plan was adopted.
