Meeting of States Parties

The Director-General of UNESCO convened a first session of the Meeting of States Parties to the 2001 Convention shortly after its entry into force on 2 January 2009 in Paris (26-27 March 2009).

He will convene an ordinary session of the Meeting thereafter at least once every two years. At the request of a majority of States Parties, he will convene an additional extra-ordinary Meeting of States Parties.

The second session of the Meeting of States Parties takes place in Paris from 1 to 3 December 2009.
