Objectives
The purpose of the Chair shall be to reform teacher education curricula to integrate peace, human rights and HIV/AIDS education and to improve the quality of teacher education in general as a dimension of sustainable development.
The Chair will:
- promote an integrated system of training, information and documentation in teacher education;
- build capacity to improve quality and coverage of teacher education through the use of distance learning; and
- create partnerships between the University of Liberia and relevant institutions in other selected countries to facilitate exchange and collaboration in the interests of quality teacher education for sustainable development.
The Chair will also contribute to the process for the reconstruction of higher education in Liberia.
