Objectives
The specific objectives of this Chair are to:
- strengthen the knowledge, skills, understandings and capacities of those working in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and lifelong learning (LL);
- facilitate knowledge-sharing regarding best and innovative practices in TVET and LL through publications, clearing house activities and an e-forum network on LL;
- equip TVET trainers to be up-to-date and more effective in delivering cutting-edge programmes, by engaging them in career-long professional development;
- ensure that all programme activities are directed to give special attention to meeting the TVET and LL needs of vulnerable priority groups, such as women and girls, youth, the poor, rural populations and the elderly; and,
- establish an international network of universities working in the field of TVET and LL.
