Democratic citizenship and cultural freedom.

Objectives

  • The purpose of the Chair shall be to promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the fields of democratic citizenship and cultural freedom. It will serve as a means of facilitating collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the University and other institutions in Spain and elsewhere in Europe and North America, and in other regions of the world.
  • The Chair’s activities shall be built around the following lines of action:
    (a) The comparative study at a global scale of processes of integration of the most vulnerable groups with the objective of ensuring their full participation in society; and (b) The sensitization and education of individuals to learn to live together in a multicultural setting.
