Objectives:

  • To integrate the concept of sustainability into the education and training of spatial planners as a way of contributing to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal 7 and ensuring environmental sustainability;
  • To generate knowledge and tools that will help in reorienting the education and training of planners internationally, with the aim of contributing to sustainable development;
  • To integrate and assess the sustainability in spatial planning for tourism development, and for environmental management and assessment.
