Objectives

The specific objectives of this Chair are to:

  • promote social cohesion and a culture of peace through intercultural education, interaction and dialogue between cultures;
  • raise awareness of intercultural studies through the media, forums, conferences, publications and think-tanks, and encourage policy dialogue through the production of guidelines;
  • enhance human resources training by organizing courses, seminars, workshops and graduate studies at the various levels of education, and promote the implementation of training activities for different sectors of the population aiming to encourage intercultural competencies and conflict mediation;
  • generate knowledge from an intercultural perspective using a multidisciplinary approach and a collective networking, with special emphasis on South-South and North-South-South cooperation.
