UNESCO Chairs hailed as “think tanks” and “bridge builders”

The UNESCO Chairs’ major contribution as “think tanks” and “bridge builders” between the academic world, civil society, local communities, research and policy-making were hailed at a recent international conference in St Petersburg.
The role of the UNESCO Chairs as poles of excellence in promoting the use of ICTs in education for sustainable information societies was also underlined at the International Forum “Modern Information Society Formation - Problems, Perspectives, Innovation Approaches”, (St Petersburg, Russian Federation, 6-11 June 2010).
