The New Dynamics

New dynamics are profoundly transforming the landscape of higher education, in particular: demand, diversification, networking, lifelong learning, information and communication technology, social responsibility and the changing role of governments.

Taking these dynamics into account, the World Conference on Higher Education (5-8 July 2009, UNESCO Paris) aims for an internationally-agreed set of concrete actions to ensure that higher education and research play a strategic role in knowledge creation and sharing for a more sustainable, inclusive and development-oriented future.
