An NGO day, two Forums and an exhibition will complement the 2009 World Conference on Higher Education. UNESCO’s International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) is organizing a Policy Forum on Tertiary Education in Small States and UNESCO and Microsoft are jointly organizing an Education Leaders Forum entitled 'Higher Education: Re-Visioning for Recovery'. UN affiliates including UNESCO, NGOs, IGOs and the private sector are contributing to an exhibition linked to the theme of WCHE 2009:  “The New Dynamics of Higher Education and Research for Societal Change and Development”.
