LEADHER - How to apply

How to apply

The LEADHER Grants are offered on a competitive basis after review by the Selection Committee, of all eligible applications submitted.  In order to be considered eligible to receive a grant, projects must meet the following requirements:
  • Each institution involved must be Members of IAU in good standing (no arrears in membership fees). Please contact IAU Secretariat at devylder.iau@unesco.org to confirm that your institution/partner is eligible.
  • The proposed project, including the learning visit(s), must be international in scope; that is, the institutions involved must be based in different countries.  Partnerships that involve South-South or North-South cooperation are particularly encouraged.
  • The proposed project must focus on one or two of the specified ‘reform areas’.
  • Learning visit(s) must be undertaken by HE leaders, senior administrators and managers (vice-presidents, deans, heads of divisions, services, etc).  Rectors, presidents, vice-chancellors, etc are normally excluded from eligibility.
  • Institutional commitment to and ‘ownership’ of the project must be demonstrated by written support of the Heads of all institutions involved in the project.
  • The proposed project, including the learning visit(s), must have clearly identified expected results and provide benefits to all institutions involved.
A list of IAU Members is available here. We strongly encourage you, before sending your application, to contact IAU Secretariat at devylder.iau@unesco.org to confirm that your institution/partner is a Member in good standing.

Deadline for applications:  30 September 2008.
