During each General Conference, IAU Members elect a new President and the Administrative Board.
Participation in IAU
elections either as a candidate or to vote is reserved to IAU
Members in good standing (with fully paid up membership fees).
Calls for nominations were sent by IAU
Secretary-General in April 2008 to all Members. The deadline for
receipt of candidacies and nominations is May 30, 2008. They must be
submitted in writing, using the appropriate Nominations Forms.
Candidates must be present at the General Conference to be elected.
A list of all candidates will be available on site at the
Conference. A brief Curriculum
Vitae for each candidate will be made available for review as
well.
