IAU 2009 International Conference,
Lebanon

Federico Mayor
Zaragoza, former UNESCO Director General, will be the
keynote speaker at the IAU 2009
International Conference, focusing on The Role of Higher Education in Fostering
the Culture of Dialogue and
Understanding. The Conference will be hosted by Notre-Dame
University-Louaize, in Lebanon from November 4 to 6, 2009.

IAU projects at the WCHE
|
IAU will present and disseminate
several new projects and special initiatives at the World Conference on
Higher Education. These include:
- a special issue of IAU Horizons focusing
on IAU Members Shaping Higher
Education for the Future;
- an Information Kit entitled Why and How Can Higher Education
Contribute to All Levels and Types of Education
- a portal named HEEFA
to identify and showcase higher education projects in Education for All
(EFA)
- preliminary and partial findings of the 3rd Global Survey on Internationalization

Follow-up on IAU
initiatives
|
IAU/Palgrave Research Essay Prize: The
3rd IAU/Palgrave Prize Essay competition is now closed. With
entries from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Iran,
Ukraine and Russia, a jury will be selected from an international group
of experts and the results will be announced soon.
