Given the importance and the increasing diversity of models of internationalization being adopted by higher education, IAU is using its unique vantage point to track and analyse issues and global trends.

Already second in the series, the 2005 IAU global survey expanded its geographical coverage and broadened the survey to include in addition to higher education institutions, university associations from around the world.

At the start of 2005, questionnaires were sent to more than 3,000 higher education institutions, more than 100 national university associations and 17 regional university associations around the world.

The IAU 2005 Internationalization Survey, Preliminary Findings Report was published in English and the printed version was made available to all IAU Members as well as to all institutions of higher education and associations that completed the questionnaire.
