Membership in IAU includes the following benefits:
- Participation in, for instance, the IAU annual
Conferences, the General
Conference, specialised workshops, seminars and experts meetings with a
discount on registration fees
- Right to vote and stand for election as President and
as an Administrative Board Member during the General Conference
- Opportunity to participate in IAU Task Forces and
related events
- Free subscription to IAU academic journal Higher Education Policy.

Higher Education Database
(WHED) CD-Rom (and discounts on additional copies of the CD-Rom)
- International
Handbook of Universities (new style) at a discount price
- Special discounts on books from the series 'Issues in Higher Education'.
- Receive regular reports on IAU activities and key
higher education and research trends (the magazine IAU Horizons, World Higher
Education News published three times a year, the monthly electronic
Bulletin of online IAU and Higher Education News and all ad hoc or
special reports on IAU activities).
- Opportunity to use all IAU communication tools and in
particular the “News
from Members” section of the IAU Website to share information with
the Higher Education community
- Use of the IAU Logo: : Show that you contribute
to ‘Building a Worldwide Higher
Education Community’ by adding the IAU logo to your
institutional website. Using the IAU logo demonstrates that you
are a Member of the International Association of Universities, that you
meet the membership criteria and uphold the same values and principles
as the Association. Upon settlement of membership fees, Members will
receive guidelines on how to use the IAU Logo.
