“This important study calls us to action. Such widespread corruption not only costs societies billions of dollars, it also seriously undermines the vital effort to provide education for all. It prevents poorer parents from sending their children to school, robs schools and pupils of equipment, lowers teaching standards and thus education standards generally, and compromises the future of our youth. We cannot let it go unchecked. ”
Koïchiro Matsuura,
Director-General of UNESCO (06-07-2007)

In addition the Institute is promoting political dialogue in the education sector in several countries with the objective of preventing
corruption, through the organization of policy meetings (Mexico in 2003, China and Morocco in 2006), or study tours (Lithuania in 2003).
The institute is also active in several international networks such as the International group for anti-corruption
coordination (IGAC), the International working group on education
(IWGE), the International anti-corruption conference
(IACC) and the Utstein anti-corruption
resource centre (U4).
