The IIEP organizes a variety of training activities, including intensive courses on methods such as Public expenditure tracking surveys (PETS) and workshops on specific topics to train representatives of government agencies on means to improve transparency and accountability in education.

It also organizes sub-regional PETS courses for representatives of ministries of education and finance, members of national statistics offices, as well as civil society representatives. Such activities have already been carried out in collaboration with the World Bank Institute (WBI) in various countries.

Using materials designed by the IIEP, participants simulated the practical steps of a PETS, from design to implementation. They also discussed how this methodology can be applied to the situation in their respective countries.
