The Observation Programme
Foreseeing challenges that may affect educational management over the next fifteen years
IIEP updates its research and training programmes on the basis of its analysis of new trends and practices
The Observation Programme helps the Institute:
- to monitor emerging trends likely to significantly affect the content and organization of education in the future
- to analyze new practices in educational planning and management
Observation activities usually span one or two years. Generally their results are incorporated into training programmes, and influence research and operational activities.
Three main topics in the Observation programme in the 7th Medium Term Plan:
- International trends in educational planning and management. Activities include studies, policy forums and key publications: namely, the 'Fundamentals of educational planning' series.
- Education in emergency situations.
- Ethics and corruption in education.
