The IIEP Virtual Institute was created to offer training through the use of information and communication technologies. This outreach contributes to building capacity in Member States. Internet-based discussion forums
Discussion forums provide an opportunity for participants to keep up to date on key issues in educational planning. An Internet discussion poses no geographical restrictions and allows anyone to participate who has a connection.

Distance courses for a specific audience
Course participation is invitational from IIEP to balance service across Member States. High and mid-level professionals from Ministries of Education, universities and other institutions from more than 100 Member States have taken part in IIEP Distance Education courses. The study method is flexible and allows participants to remain on the job. Course evaluations show that the method is appreciated.

Alumni
Over the past 40 years, almost 1400 persons have attended the Advanced Training Programme. Many of them remain in close contact with IIEP. The Alumni Network was created to provide an open forum. Members can stay in touch with IIEP and each other easily.
