Presentations and work on publications continued, along with the exploration of potential new project sites in a number of countries. In May, Growing Up in Cities was featured in a plenary session at the Annual Meeting of the Environmental Design Research Association in San Francisco.

In June 2000, UNESCO and Childwatch International co-sponsored a symposium inspired by Growing Up in Cities on “Children’s Participation in Community Settings” in Oslo, Norway, with a focus on the evaluation of participatory projects with children.

A new project website was created, linked to the MOST Programme-UNESCO homepage.
